Digital continued its strong growth trajectory, surpassing EUR5bn for the first time to remain the leading revenue source for creators worldwide. Live & background income grew by +9.6%, continuing its post-pandemic rebound. Meanwhile, TV & radio returned to growth after a decline in 2023, contributing to the overall market uplift. Since 2015, total collections have increased by +65.2% This sustained momentum highlights the importance of modern licensing frameworks and policy support in unlocking new value for rightsholders. As creators and CMOs adapt to shifting consumption trends, the continued expansion of digital markets offers a powerful opportunity to strengthen rights management and increase revenues. Leveraging this growth, while ensuring equitable access and fair remuneration, will be key to fostering sustainable creative economies, both in mature markets and regions where collections remain nascent but full of potential.Creators%u2019 major collection sources, 2020%u20132024 (EUR million)%u20ac0.0M %u20ac0.5M %u20ac1.0M %u20ac1.5M %u20ac2.0M %u20ac2.5M %u20ac3.0M %u20ac3.5M %u20ac4.0M %u20ac4.5M %u20ac5.0M %u20ac5.5M20202021202320222024DigitalTV & Radio Live & Background Private Copying CD & Video DigitalTV & Radio Live & Background Private Copying CD & Video DigitalTV & Radio Live & Background Private Copying CD & Video DigitalTV & Radio Live & Background Private Copying CD & Video DigitalTV & Radio Live & Background Private Copying CD & Video %u20ac2.44M%u20ac3.7M%u20ac1.59M%u20ac0.47M%u20ac0.35M%u20ac3.12M%u20ac3.64M%u20ac1.58M%u20ac0.38M%u20ac0.36M%u20ac4.22M%u20ac4.05M%u20ac2.68M%u20ac0.37M%u20ac0.36M%u20ac4.62M%u20ac3.90M%u20ac3.28M%u20ac0.40M%u20ac0.38M%u20ac5.14M%u20ac3.95M%u20ac3.60M%u20ac0.38M%u20ac0.35MSince 2020, digital income has soared by +110.6% to become the leading revenue source for creators. Over the past decade, digital has added nearly EUR4.4bn in revenue, rising from the third-largest income stream to become the dominant source of earnings for creators worldwide.TV & radio income rose more modestly during this time, having risen by only +3.8% between 2015 and 2024. After losing its long-held status as the top income source to digital in 2022, broadcast now faces the real prospect of dropping behind live & background in the near future. Live income finished +37.9% higher in 2024 than where it stood in 2015. It generated just EUR339m less in income than TV & radio. In 2015, the income gap was around EUR1.2bn.CISAC Forewords CISAC AI Fraud Highlights Market analysis Futuresource Collections by repertoire Collections by region Tables of collections Membership About the report Methodology18 19Forewords CISAC AI Fraud Highlights Market analysis Futuresource Collections by repertoire Collections by region Tables of collections Membership About the report Methodology Global Collections Report
